Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009, developed a software application which works on peer-to- peer network that and was later called Bitcoin.

This is a digital currency not printed by any country or authority and does not require any bank or broker to complete transactions.

The price of a bitcoin has shot-up this year. At the beginning of 2017, the going price of a bitcoin was around $920 dollars. As of today, the current price of bitcoin has quadrupled to around $4,078.64 US dollars.

This is a tremendous price increase for an asset class in such a short period of time. This phenomenon has led to many investors thinking seriously about investing in bitcoins.

Investing in bitcoins is not like investing in stocks and bonds. There are no safety nets for these transactions.
